Hydraulic Briquetting Press

Hundreds of tons of pressing force can press various hard metal chips into uniform briquettes, reduce the material volume by 10 to 20 times, and squeeze out most of the cutting fluid. The hydraulic cylinder is covered by a 5-year warranty.

Enerpat - Advantages of Hydraulic Briquetting Press

They uses the hydraulic system as the core power source to provide extremely high tonnage pressing force. The hydraulic cylinder pushes the pressing head to squeeze and form the material inside a closed pressing chamber. Compared with traditional mechanical stamping and screw extrusion, its advantages are not only higher pressing force. It also performs better in briquetting stability, forming density, and material adaptability, making it a reliable and efficient industrial-grade machine.

The pressure of tens to hundreds of tons can ensure that the material is fully compressed and tightly formed. The output briquettes have a very uniform shape and density, making it almost the preferred choice in the metal press field. They are usually equipped with overload protection. When hard objects are mixed in, the machine can automatically release pressure. During the operation, the hydraulic system works slowly and smoothly, can complete forming in one cycle. This makes it very suitable for processing difficult-to-form materials such as various metal chips. Compared with stamping types, it causes much less impact and wear on the mold, so the core components have a longer service life.

Enerpat - Hydraulic Briquetting Machines for Pressing Metal Chips

Almost all metal briquetting machines are hydraulically driven. To press loose and curled metal chips into briquettes, enough high-tonnage pressure must be used to force them into shape. The material volume can be reduced by more than 90% at most, saving a large amount of labor, handling, storage, and transportation costs. During remelting, the efficiency is higher, and the oxidation loss rate can be reduced to less than 5%. More importantly, under strong pressing force, various cutting fluids remaining in the metal chips are squeezed out and recovered. In this way, the material changes from hazardous waste into a reusable resource. This is a result that mechanical stamping and screw extrusion types cannot achieve.

The structure and performance of Enerpat machines are fully designed for pressing metals. Pressing forces from 50 tons to 1,250 tons are available, ensuring that scrap with different levels of high hardness and high toughness can be tightly formed, while also improving pressure stability. The whole machine has high structural strength and can withstand long-term high-pressure loads and wear from metal. This ensures that the machine structure does not deform and that the briquette quality remains stable. The advanced PLC control system not only monitors hydraulic data in real time, but also allows the machine to flexibly adapt to harsh industrial environments.

  • High Pressing Force: Delivers and maintains hundreds to thousands of tons of pressure, easily pressing high-hardness materials into dense briquettes.
  • Wear-Resistant Mold: The mold and pressing head are made of high-strength hard alloy, allowing them to resist heavy wear during pressing.
  • Forced Feeding: Agitator rods or double-screw structures inside the hopper solve material blockage, bridging, and uneven feeding problems.
  • Cutting Fluid Recovery: The machine has an internal liquid drainage structure, allowing the squeezed-out cutting fluid to flow out smoothly and be collected.

We focus more on the practical impact of hydraulic performance on pressing metal chips. For example, increasing the density of the briquettes to prevent easy breakage; improving the cutting fluid separation rate to reduce resource waste; enhancing the machine’s adaptability to different material types; and simplifying operation to the greatest extent possible, enabling automatic and continuous operation and improving efficiency.

Enerpat - Materials Suitable For Hydraulic Pressing

Under sufficient pressing force, tough metal scrap are cold-pressed into shape, relying entirely on their own plasticity to bond tightly together, without the need for heating or adhesives. The resulting briquettes have clear edges, neat shapes, and are not easily damaged.

Reliable Hydraulic Cylinders

The hydraulic cylinder is the core component of a hydraulic briquetting machine, and it is also the part most likely to fail. Pressing force generated by the machine comes from it. Enerpat uses Baosteel-brand steel structure as the main body of the cylinder. It is made with an integral casting process, formed in one piece with no welds, giving it excellent strength and toughness. The thickened cylinder wall can withstand high operating pressure and no deform. The seals come from leading brands, making the cylinder less likely to leak oil, and more reliable and durable.

This not only extends the service life of the hydraulic cylinder, but also keeps the pressing force more stable, avoiding uneven briquette. To give you the best guarantee and service, we provide a 5-year warranty for the hydraulic cylinder. This comes from our confidence in the machine.

efficient industrial cooling systems

Industrial Cooling Systems for Efficient Heat Dissipation

When the machine is working, the hydraulic oil circulates at high speed and generates a large amount of heat. The oil temperature will gradually rise. If the temperature becomes too high, it can cause lower briquetting performance, seal aging, and even oil leakage.

Industrial cooling equipment can quickly remove heat and keep the hydraulic system temperature within the best range at all times. You can set the oil temperature within a specified range or to the ambient temperature, ensuring that the briquetting machine can run continuously for 24 hours. For every 10°C drop in oil temperature, the service life of the seals and the system can be doubled. Industrial refrigeration lays the foundation for continuous production.

Intelligent PLC Monitoring

Intelligent PLC
Monitoring Hydraulic System

We use a Siemens/Schneider PLC control system to precisely control the operation process. It can also monitor hydraulic system data in real time, including pressure, temperature, and flow rate.
Once the PLC detects abnormal conditions, such as excessive pressure, overly high oil temperature, or too low oil level, it will immediately send an alarm and carry out protective actions to prevent safety accidents.

What are the differences between hydraulic briquetting machines and mechanical stamping/screw extrusion machines?
  • Hydraulic: Low noise, with slow and continuous squeezing of the material instead of instant impact. The hydraulic cylinder pushes the pressing head and easily outputs dozens to hundreds of tons of pressure. It is suitable for difficult-to-form materials, such as metal chips.
  • Mechanical Stamping: Mainly relies on the mechanical structure to generate fast and repeated impact force. The material is formed by the accumulation of repeated impacts. It features fast movement and a relatively direct structure, but the pressure is not stable.
  • Screw Extrusion: Compression is created inside the extrusion chamber through the rotation of the screw shaft. Strong friction generates high temperature, which softens the lignin in the material and makes it act as a binder. After the material comes out of the mold and cools down, it hardens and forms. It can provide continuous output and is suitable for powder, wood chips, biomass, or softer materials.
Is hydraulic system maintenance complicated?

In general, as long as the machine runs normally and the oil temperature is not too high, frequent maintenance is not required.

After the hydraulic oil has been used for a long time, it will become dirty and thinner. It usually needs to be completely replaced after several thousand hours of operation. When adding oil, avoid mixing in any impurities. Check the oil pipe connections and the cylinder rod occasionally each week to see if there is any oil leakage. If oil leakage occurs, tighten the fittings or replace the seals.

What is the working process of a hydraulic briquetting press?

The process includes several steps: feeding, material conveying, pressing, and discharging.

First, the material is poured into the hopper. Then, the screw feeding device automatically pushes the material evenly into the pressing chamber, helping to avoid blockage and bridging.

After feeding is completed, the hydraulic cylinder pushes the pressing head to compress and form the material, while the cutting fluid is squeezed out. Depending on the material type and briquette size, usually takes around ten seconds.

After pressing is completed, the discharge outlet opens, and the briquette is pushed out.

Besides metal chips, what other materials can be pressed?

Our hydraulic briquetting machine is designed for metal chips and cannot be used to press other materials. There are very fine gaps in the mold for draining cutting fluid. Dust from other materials can completely block these gaps. Also, because the pressing force is too high, other materials such as biomass do not need such high pressure at all. Without heating, they may not form. Corrosive materials may corrode the delicate hydraulic valves and molds.
